The Italian rescue organization Emergency says it picked up 105 migrants at sea early Tuesday morning.
Their inflatable boat floated without fuel in international waters off the Libyan coast.
In a tweet, Emergency states that this includes a woman who is seven months pregnant and 29 minors, 25 of which are unaccompanied by an adult.
The vessel with which the people were rescued should dock in Brindisi this Friday.
The 12-metre raft “had serious structural problems and began to flood,” Emanuele Nannini of Emergency said in a press release.
“An extremely dangerous situation for the 105 people on board. In addition, the situation at sea was deteriorating.
