Air France Conducts Health Pass Tests on Flights From the US

Airline Air France will test with a health card on flights from the American cities of Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Travellers can use the app to show that they have been tested negative for the coronavirus.

The test will last four weeks on the routes between the two Californian cities and Paris-Charles de Gaulle. Air France is also already testing the so-called AOK Pass on flights between Guadeloupe and Martinique. The pass is also used by Etihad Airways on flights from Abu Dhabi between Paris and Pakistan.

The aviation sector hopes that these health cards will contribute to the recovery from the pandemic. The virus outbreak and travel restrictions hit global aviation hard.

On Wednesday, the European Commission presented its plans for a free digital or paper certificate with a QR code. Airline travellers can get it if they have been vaccinated against corona, have recently tested negative or have produced sufficient antibodies against the virus.
