Belgian Doctor Arrested for Falsified Corona Certificates

On Wednesday evening, a Belgian doctor suspected of having forged at least 2000 corona certificates was arrested by the Charleroi police.

 

The man faces a jail term of 5 to 10 years if convicted.

The Belgian authorities have been investigating the doctor recently, who issued falsified corona certificates in Liège. He is suspected of forgery.

The case came to light when it turned out that many fake certificates had been issued by the same doctor.

In Belgium, residents need a corona pass to gain access to catering establishments. Healthcare workers are also required to be vaccinated.
