Microsoft’s search engine is the only foreign one that still works in China. The tech giant was asked not to provide auto-suggestions for seven days.
It is the second time in four months that Bing has been asked to turn off so-called auto-suggestions. The move is part of a broader government effort to take stricter action against tech companies, Reuters news agency writes.
Chinese internet users noticed the lack of auto-suggestions on Saturday. However, Bing keeps it in a statement that it is adapting to the country’s rules.
However, it is not entirely clear why that country is currently asking to turn off auto-suggestions.
