Boris Johnson Arrives in Glasgow Again, This Time by Train

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has arrived by train in Glasgow for his speech at the climate summit there later on Wednesday, The Guardian reports.

Johnson was previously under fire for allegedly flying a private jet to London for dinner during the summit.

The opposition Labor party called the move “shocking hypocrisy”. Parliamentarian Anneliese Dodds told the Daily Mirror that taking action to tackle the climate crisis appears to have “different rules for Conservatives than for the rest of the world.”

Johnson posted a video of himself on Twitter on Wednesday on the train en route to Glasgow. In it, he says the 200 countries at the summit have made “significant progress” in recent days, but there is still “a long way to go”. Nevertheless, he argues that the UK is a leading country globally when it comes to tackling climate change, citing the UK’s target to cut CO2 emissions by 78 percent by 2035 compared to 1990.

The prime minister will call on the international community on Wednesday to increase their climate ambitions, Sky News writes.
