Boss AstraZeneca Disappointed About the Faltering Vaccine Supply

AstraZeneca CEO Pascal Soriot is “disappointed” that the production and delivery of his corona vaccine to the European Union are disappointing.

“Just like you,” he said in the European Parliament, which is questioning him and other vaccine manufacturers on Thursday.

AstraZeneca has reported setback after setback in recent weeks. In the first three months of this year, the EU had to make do with 40 million doses while counting on 80 million and actually quite a bit more.

Production in the second quarter also threatens to disappoint sharply, and it turned out on Monday. The company has not been doing very well in Brussels since then.

Soriot is nevertheless “convinced” that production will start in the spring. He says the British / Swedish company will work closely with the European Commission to make that happen.
