According to the judge, the Supreme Court in Canada’s Quebec province has temporarily denied a divorced father the right to see his 12-year-old daughter because he has not been vaccinated and has shown himself to be a conspiracy theorist via Facebook.
Canadian media reported this almost three weeks after the ruling.
The court ruled that it is normally in the best interests of the child to see her father, but that is not the case now due to the current corona measures in Québec and the father’s vaccination status. His opinions expressed on Facebook also indicate that he would support theories that would show that he is not inclined to comply with the corona measures in force.
The lawsuit stemmed from the father’s desire to see his daughter on one of the two Christmas days. The mother resisted, arguing that he had not been vaccinated and was a conspiracy theorist. The father only acknowledged that he had reservations about the vaccinations but said that he would adhere to corona measures and hardly go out.
As far as we know, it is the first time that a parent has been separated from a child for failing to vaccinate and for ‘conspiracy thinking’.
