Where the booster vaccinations in most EU countries have yet to get underway, Germany is quickly continuing with the extra vaccinations.
In the past day, almost 823,000 Germans received such a boost. That is the highest number since the Robert Koch Institut, the German RIVM, started sharing vaccination figures.
In total, almost 11.3 million Germans have now received a booster shot. That is 13.5 percent of the population. On Wednesday, Germany crossed the 10 million people barrier.
In Austria, the counter stands at more than 2 million, Belgium at 1.8 million, and Denmark at almost 900,000. Those countries started the preparations earlier and started the injection earlier.
