Google refuses to respond to the demands of the Turkish Competition Council and says it will no longer cooperate on new Android phones for the Turkish market.
Google says it has “informed its business partners that it will not be able to cooperate on new Android devices for the Turkish market,” the company said to Reuters.
That decision comes after a dispute that has been dragging on for a while in which Google refuses to comply with a resolution of the regulator.
That had imposed a fine of 93 million lira on Google in September 2018 because you cannot replace the Google search engine with a competing service on Android.
That request came at the request of the Russian competitor Yandex.
