Hackers Also Invaded European Banking Regulator

Hackers have also entered the European banking regulator through a recently revealed hole in a Microsoft email platform.

The European Banking Authority (EBA) has taken its email system offline for the time being to prevent further abuse.

Hundreds of thousands of businesses and organizations may be victims of the Microsoft Exchange Server vulnerability. Hackers mainly struck in the United States, but also, for example, in the Netherlands.

Microsoft suspects hackers employed by China.

The software’s hole offered hackers access to the EBA’s email servers, the EU authority said. As a result, the personal data of employees may also have fallen into the wrong hands. The EBA is investigating the matter. His email service is currently not accessible online.
