Now that Lewis Hamilton has finally signed with Mercedes, the field for the new Formula 1 season is complete. All teams have confirmed their drivers for 2021.
World champion Hamilton, who negotiated with Mercedes for months, is again in a duo with the Finn Valtteri Bottas. The season kicks off on March 28 with the Bahrain Grand Prix at Sakhir circuit.
Max Verstappen has got the Mexican Sergio Pérez as a new teammate at Red Bull. Pérez, who drove for Racing Point in recent years, replaces the Thai Alexander Albon. At McLaren, which finished third in the World Championship for constructors last year, the Brit Lando Norris has been joined by Daniel Ricciardo.
The Australian replaces Carlos Sainz, who has switched to Ferrari. The Spaniard, now a teammate of the Monegask Charles Leclerc, has taken over from Sebastian Vettel at the Italian racing stable. The four-time world champion from Germany has switched to the Aston Martin team, formerly known as Racing Point. Vettel meets the Canadian Lance Stroll there.
Haas enters the new season with two debutants: the German Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin from Russia. At AlphaTauri, Japanese Yuki Tsunoda gets a chance in Formula 1. Tsunoda, who replaces Daniil Kviat, is Pierre Gasly’s teammate.
Alfa Romeo (Kimi Räikkönen and Antonio Giovinazzi) and Williams (George Russell and Nicholas Latifi), just like Mercedes, did not change the composition of the driver duo.
