Russian police have launched an investigation into the assassination attempt on Russian general Igor Kirillov, in charge of nuclear forces.
He was killed together with an employee in an attack in Moscow. A bomb in a parked scooter went off when the two left a building in Moscow, Russian media reported.
Since 2018, Kirillov, 54, has been the commander of Russian units that specialize in actions in circumstances where nuclear, biological or chemical weapons were used.
On Monday, a public prosecutor in Kyiv charged him with the use of banned chemical weapons in Ukraine, according to the Kyiv Independent.
