Microsoft will automatically switch business users to the new Outlook by April 2026. The idea is to get more people to try the latest version, but there’s also a way around it.
Microsoft already offers the choice between a new mail program, Outlook and Outlook Classic. In April 2026, anyone working in a company with Microsoft 365 for Enterprise will automatically be transferred to the new Outlook.
Although the new version of Outlook has been around for a while, Microsoft seems to be making this choice to attract more users. ‘Our goal with this change is to give users the ability to use the new Outlook, just like millions of others, ‘ Microsoft says in a message to administrators.
The new version of Outlook includes some new features, such as snoozing and pinning emails, and some Copilot features.
The good news is that those who do not want to do this can refuse or reverse the switch. In the Outlook settings, an option to reject the switch will appear. It will also remain possible to return to classic Outlook after the switch.
