No Formula 1 Race in Turkey, But A Second One in Austria

Formula 1 has had to scrap the Grand Prix of Turkey. Due to the corona academy, travel restrictions make it impossible for the racing stables to reach the Istanbul circuit.

The race in Turkey was scheduled for June 13 and was already a late addition to the calendar. Istanbul Park only came into the picture after it became clear that the Grand Prix of Canada in Montreal was cancelled due to corona.

Formula 1 has once again found a replacement race. A second grand Prix will be held at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. That race will take place under the name of the Grand Prix of Styria on June 27.

The following week, on July 4, the Grand Prix of Austria will take place on the same circuit. The Grand Prix of France moves forward a week and is now on the calendar for June 20.

All in all, Formula 1 still retains 23 races this season, including the Grand Prix of the Netherlands on the Zandvoort circuit on September 5.
