A representative of Sony’s video game division said in a statement to business channel CNBC that the company has suspended all software and hardware shipments in the country. The launch of the new racing game Gran Turismo 7 has also been postponed, and the PlayStation Store will no longer be available in Russia.
Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) joins the global community in calling for peace in Ukraine. The tech concert also donated $2 million in humanitarian aid to UN refugee agency UNHCR and nonprofit Save the Children to support the tragedy victims.
From McDonald’s to Coca-Cola, a whole host of brands have shut down their operations in Russia. Earlier, game makers such as Electronic Arts and CD Projekt also said they would block the sale of games and content in Russia and Belarus.
