The British Government Also Launches Corona App

The UK government has launched an app to warn people if they may have been exposed to the coronavirus.

There will also be a public campaign to encourage residents of England and Wales to put the program on their smartphones.

The British government uses technology in the app that tech giants Apple and Google have developed together.

The program uses Bluetooth to monitor how long people are around other users. For example, people can be warned if they have been in contact with someone who has the virus.

Health Minister Matt Hancock calls the introduction of the ‘NHS COVID-19 app’ an “important step forward in the fight against this invisible killer”.

More countries use such programs to prevent the spread of the virus. Germany did that months ago, and Scotland also has its own corona app.
