The National Lockdown in England Ends on December 2

The national lockdown in England ends on December 2, after which regional infection figures will be leading for measures to contain the coronavirus.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson outlined in a speech to parliament on Monday what the new three-category system will look like, while the so-called COVID Winter Plan was published.

Johnson regrets expecting that some regions will have a stricter regime than is currently the case. He says he is based on scientific advice.

In areas where there are relatively few infections, shops, gyms and hairdressers can open again. Outdoor and stadium sports events allow up to 4000 spectators.
