The Venezuelan authorities are celebrating the arrival of the first of five Iranian oil tankers.
Still, there are few reasons to party, because a crisis has struck oil-rich Venezuela that it now has to import oil itself.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro described the action as “two rebel nations that will never kneel before US imperialism.”
The United States strongly disapproves of this cooperation.
A first Iranian oil tanker has reached Venezuela. While the Iranian ship Fortune goes ashore at the El Palito refinery, workers applaud to welcome the ship.
Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza also tweeted about the arrival of the oil tanker. “Iran and Venezuela have always supported each other in difficult times.”
