The United Kingdom is raising the threat level in the country after a taxi was blown up in Liverpool on Sunday. The level goes from substantial to severe, meaning another attack is very likely.
The British use a scale of one to five to indicate the threat level, with severe being the second-highest level. The change follows two incidents within a month, according to Interior Minister Priti Patel.
In mid-October, MP David Amess was assassinated. The police consider this murder and the explosion as terrorism.
A taxi exploded in front of a hospital in Liverpool on Sunday. In the car was a passenger with an explosive that he probably assembled himself. The driver managed to escape just in time before his taxi caught fire.
He was slightly injured. The passenger was killed in the explosion.
