OpenAI CEO Sam Altman Sued by Sister for Sexual Abuse

The CEO of OpenAI, the company behind the popular chatbot ChatGPT, has been sued by his sister. Ann Altman accuses her brother Sam Altman of years of sexual abuse.

The CEO has called his sister’s claims “completely false.”

Ann Altman (30) claims in her complaint that Sam Altman (39) abused and manipulated her from the late 1990s. The abuse allegedly started when she was 3 years old and stopped when the OpenAI CEO was an adult and she was still a minor. His sister has previously accused him of abuse on social media.

She is seeking damages from her brother and claims she has suffered severe emotional distress. She is also said to have increasingly high medical bills for her psychological treatment. Bloomberg News estimated Sam Altman’s fortune last year to be more than $2 billion.

The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. city of St. Louis, Missouri, where people can file charges of childhood sexual abuse up until they are 31 years old.

Sam Altman responded to the charges via a message on X. “This situation is causing tremendous pain for our entire family,” he said on behalf of his mother and brothers.
