SpaceX has lost control of an unmanned Starship rocket for the second time.
Elon Musk’s space company lost contact with the rocket’s second stage, the spacecraft, minutes after launch, a spokesperson announced during a live broadcast. The previous test in January also failed.
The rocket was launched from Boca Chica in the US state of Texas.
In the previous test, seven weeks ago, the rocket exploded after eight minutes over the Atlantic Ocean. Debris fell near the Turks and Caicos Islands and dozens of flights had to be diverted.
The American aviation authority FAA launched an investigation last week, but SpaceX permitted a new test.
