Chinese SOEs Should Start Using Chinese-Made PCs

In China, state-owned companies and government agencies will be allowed to use only Chinese-made computers in two years.

This is a new requirement from the Chinese government.

This reports Bloomberg news agency citing sources. The requirement means that at least fifty million computer systems must be replaced in the long term.

The measure appears to be part of a broader policy favouring local alternatives over imported technology.

In the past, this also happened with many software applications.
