Anyone running a Windows 10 system will get the new Outlook app installed starting next month anyway. Microsoft is going to force the new app to be pushed.
This is stated in a support document. The renewed Outlook for Windows app will be downloaded in an optional update on January 28 or during a forced security update on February 11.
The app will be installed alongside the existing Outlook (Classic). The installation and settings of the existing Outlook Classic will not be changed.
In principle, you could also delete the new app as a user after installation. But you can’t stop the installation. Microsoft has been trying to migrate users to the renewed Outlook for some time now.
The company previously announced that all business Microsoft 365 users will automatically be transferred to the new app in 2026.
